Think about it - if nothing catches the skunks eye, it is not going to go anywhere near the trap, is it? Skunks are scavengers by nature so in reality, you could probably chuck any number of things in the trap to work as a tasty lure, but as with most wild animals, there will be some foods that work better than others. In order to figure out what works for your skunk, you should take a look at what he is doing in your yard. Is he stealing your cat or dog food? Is he scrambling around in your fruit trees trying to steal your delicious fruits? Is he rooting through garbage can and making a mess? The answers to these questions will help you to identify the food that he loves, and in turn you can effectively use them as bait. After a while, if the rest of the house is in silencer, you are probably going to hear this from the depths of the attic or your walls! The second noise is one that you are probably going to want to back away from, and this is the hissing noise. This is usually a call made by a baby opossum when it feels threatened or scared, and the last thing that you are going to want to do is wake up an angry mother that is just looking out for her young!
