They burrow into walls and foundations causing a lot of destruction. This leads to increased repair costs. In the garden, chipmunks eat all the bird seeds hence birds cannot come to the garden. They also eat any bird hatching they find in the garden. There are many ways of trapping and getting rid of chipmunks in your yard. These include:

Using traps - Two types of traps can be used to capture chipmunks. They are: a) Live traps- This traps lure the chipmunks into a cage and trap them inside. This is a humane way of trapping the chipmunks. However, these traps are expensive, and you may have a hard time relocating the chipmunk. Chipmunks live together in groups of around ten. With this trap, you will only capture one chipmunk at a time, so you must be ready to make numerous traps. b) The second trap is one that kills the chipmunks. You can use a rattrap or a squirrel trap in this case. All you have to do is use bait that will help speed up the capturing process.

Hardware cloth - This method keeps chipmunks and other rodents from your house. Once you buy the hardware cloth, install it around your house.
