When hiring a company to solve your wild animal problem, you want these features:

  • Specializes in wildlife removal, not pest control
  • Fully South Dakota and Pennington County licensed and insured
  • Works 7 days per week (critters don't take weekends off)
  • Performs full building inspections: enters and inspects attic
  • Performs exclusion repairs, with guarantee against animal re-entry
  • Offers cleanup of biohazardous wildlife waste

  • Wildlife Removal South Dakota is a full-service Rapid City wildlife removal company. This is very different from a regular Rapid City pest control company. The pest control companies spray poison to kill insects. This is not at all similar to wildlife removal. Wildlife Removal South Dakota performs a full inspection of the home or property, and determines why the animal(s) are there, and if inside a building, how the animals got inside. All animals (including rodents) are trapped and removed, or if possible, removed from the building using special exclusion devices. Once the animals are gone, preventative repairs are essential, and cleanup is sometimes recommended.

Rapid City wildlife trapping - it's not as simple as it may seem. It's illegal in South Dakota to trap without a license. Trap type is very important and there are many different types, bait is somewhat relevant, trap placement is vital, and there are dozens of small things that are very important to know. Safety is a concern. Then once the animal is trapped, it must be removed and dealt with in the proper manner according to South Dakota law. We offer Rapid City raccoon removal. Read more about how to get rid of raccoons.

Animals in attics - this is our specialty at Wildlife Removal South Dakota. Many types of animals like to live in attics. This includes squirrels, raccoons, rats, mice, bats, birds, and even possums. Critters like to go into attics for a safe place to live and raise their young. Removing animals from attics is very complex work, partly because of the presence of baby animals. If you need Rapid City squirrel removal, we can remove all the squirrels from your attic, and seal out any future ones. Read more about how to get rid of squirrels.

Rodent control must be done in a very specific way. First off, the most important thing is that all the openings that rats and mice can use to enter a house be sealed. Then all the rodents must be physically trapped and removed. Never, ever use poison! Most Rapid City exterminators will just use this lazy poison technique to kill rodents, and it causes more harm than good - dead stinky rats, and it doesn't solve the problem. Call us for correct Rapid City rat removal. Read more about how to get rid of rats.

Bat removal is a highly specialized task. South Dakota is known to have colonizing bats who often live in buildings. Bats love attics. If not removed, the colony can grow to a very large size over the years. The bat droppings are often corrosive and cause health risks. The same goes for bird droppings on or in buildings. We perform Rapid City pigeon removal and bird control. But our specialty is Rapid City bat removal. We remove 100% of the bat colony and seal the building so that it's totally bat-proof. Read more about how to get rid of bats.

If you have animals inside a house, no job is complete without proper exclusion repairs. If you simply hire a Rapid City trapper who only removes the critters, then the problem will return. You need to hire a Rapid City wildlife control company that identifies 100% of the animal entry points into your building, and seals them shut with professional repairs. In addition, in many cases animals have left waste or contamination behind, and you'll want a company that can provide professional cleaning services. Wildlife Removal South Dakota does both.

The above are just some of the services offered by Wildlife Removal South Dakota. We also trap and remove animals that destroy lawns, such as moles, or digging animals. Sometimes animals like opossums will live under buildings, steal pet food, raid garbage cans, etc. Read about how to get rid of opossums. Skunks commonly live under sheds or decks, and set up a den. We can trap and remove them without them spraying. Read about how to get rid of skunks. Wildlife Removal South Dakota also provides dead animal removal in Rapid City. If you need help with any other wildlife conflict, from a fox, beaver, groundhog, or any other critter, we can solve it. We also do Rapid City snake removal - most of the snakes in South Dakota are not venomous, but call us if you want safe removal, or read about how to get rid of snakes in Rapid City. And remember, we are a private business, not Pennington County Animal Control Services, so if you have a dog or cat problem, call the County at 605-394-6906. Pennington County animal services does not handle any wildlife issues.

    Rapid City Wildlife Tip #1:
What to do about a possum or skunk under your house? - So... you think you have a possum or skunk living under your home and you are not sure what to do! Don't panic, ladies and gentleman, for help is at hand. There are a few easy steps to resolve this pesky problem, and as long as you follow these directions, you will be possum or skunk-free in next to no time at all! Get yourself some heavy duty, durable material. Why? To block up the holes that the possum or skunk is using to gain access to your home, of course! You could use a number of materials, but you must make sure that the possum or skunk cannot claw or nibble through it. Try looking at vinyl, stucco, mesh wiring, or wood.

    1. Look around your home for holes. It could be something as large as a gaping hole in the side of your home, or something as small as a drain, air conditioning unit, or even an open window with a broken screen door.

2.Try to work out which of the holes your possum or skunk is using, and if they are using more than one, the one that they are using the most. This will take a little investigative work, but it will be worth it in the end, we promise you!

    3. Block up all of the holes with the material that you bought, with the exception of the most used hole. Why not this hole? Well, if you do block this hole up as well, you are going to be blocking the creature underneath your home, and very soon it will die of starvation if nothing else. Then your home is going to stink and you are going to kick yourself!

    4. Using the most used hole, place a trap nearby and bait it. Lay in wait until you have caught the creature.

    5. Once the animal has been caught, block up the final hole and you should have put a stop to the rather annoying possum or skunk problem!

    Rapid City Wildlife Tip #2:
Where opossums can get in your house - How many words can you think of to describe the possum? Small, bizarre looking, cute, smelly, messy... this list could possibly go on for some time. Not only do they wreak havoc just by themselves, they also have a nasty habit of attracting other animals that could create just as much havoc. For example, they are going to nibble on your plants, (food or flowers) in your yard, knock the seeds out of the bird feeder causing a mess, deterring other birds and cuter creatures, and finding a source of food for themselves, knocking over your garbage can and leaving litter everywhere, and much more besides. You may even find that the territory wars will leave an awful stench of possum versus skunk; something that you are most definitely not going to want. Getting to the root of the problem - these possums are going to be a pain in the backside. Does your house have an air conditioning unit? Have you ever thought about how easy it would be for the possums to crawl into the tiny spaces within this unit? Once they are in here, they are going to scent mark, poop, pee, and even worse than this, die! Just imagine when you want to put the air conditioning unit on when the weather gets warmer; the smell of all of these things combined is going to reek out your home, and it is not a smell that you are going to want to smell ever again! The fact is these creatures are not house trained. This means that they are going to do whatever they want to do, when they want to do it, and no amount of trying to avoid this is going to make life any easier for any of you. In short - these creatures are not housebroken, which means that living a life alongside these animals is going to be somewhat difficult.
