You have to keep all the rodents from the garbage. When there is a steady supply of food, rodents will look for a home within your home where they can access the garbage whenever they are hungry.

What to do

Rodents can get into very many placed and the garbage is one such place. You need to find a way to control the rodents from accessing the garbage by all means. The most important thing is to make sure that you keep all garbage cans closed tightly and at all times. When you seal the off, then the rodents will not be in a position to gain entry. You need to find a way of handling the garbage at all times.

When you leave garbage cans unprotected, then it means that you will always have to deal with a mess every other time and this can consume allot of your time at the end of the day.

The materials that you used for the garbage cans also need to be carefully thought out. Always ensure that the material is not easy to gnaw or scratch into. Rodents can create holes on the garbage cans and enter son as to start looking for meals.

As with dumpsters, the same should be applied. Always make sure they are covered tightly at all times. This will discourage the rodents from eating your garbage and therefore they will move on to find other food sources elsewhere.

So as to be able to deal with the rodent issue when you cover your garbage, you will need to make sure that your surroundings are well sanitized at all times. There are rodents which make an appearance at night and if they are in the habit of finding unattended meals, they will definitely keep on coming back for more and more every time. Clear out your areas and make sure that garbage gets collected in good time. Avoid overflowing garbage cans and use the correct materials.
